Education Within the Deeep Project: Innovative Technology for Geothermal Research
As part of the Deeep project in Vienna, a specialized training program is being conducted on the installation and commissioning of a sensor cable designed for distributed optical measurements. This advanced technology enables precise monitoring of geothermal reservoir properties, as well as continuous recording and supervision of environmental formation changes deep underground.
The goal of this training is to certify professionals and ensure the efficient and rapid installation of the system used in oil, geothermal, and other wells. Proper installation and adjustment of these sensor systems are crucial for the accuracy of collected data, helping optimize research and the exploitation of natural resources.
The trainings in general are divided into two key parts. The first part takes place in the City of Split and it provides basic theoretical understanding and practical preparations. This phase covers technical characteristics of the sensor system, components, installation methodologies, and the analysis of data obtained from cable integrity measurements . The second part is practical training, conducted at the Th2 well in Aspern, Vienna, where acquired knowledge is applied in real field conditions. In this way all necessary aspects of deployments are covered by the training.
